Reclaiming Wholeness: Action for Change

February, 2009 - In the soaring presence of the totems and houseposts of the Sty-Wet-Tan Longhouse at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, B.C., representatives from across Canada and from a variety of sectors gathered in February 2009 with a common purpose - to support the health and well-being of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples in Canada. At the invitation of the NCCAH, participants looked for ways to accelerate change that recognizes the links between such issues as housing and tuberculosis, food security and health outcomes, and identity and mental health and well-being.
